Jasminum L.

Genus of about 200 species, distributed throughout Asia, Europe, Macaronesia, North Africa, Australia and South Pacific islands. Most species are grown worldwide as ornamentals. In North Africa, it is represented by 3 species. J. fruticans, with a Mediterranean distribution, J. grandiflorum subsp floribundum, in Africa and the Arabian Peninsula, and J. fluminense from Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia and Arabia.
