Sideritis L.

Genus composed of about 190 species, distributed mainly in the Mediterranean countries. In North Africa it is represented by 20 species, with greater diversity in the N of Morocco. Although there are some annual herbaceous species, most are perennial and subshrubs up to 0.7(1) m in height. Most of them are woody only at the base of the stems. Here we will only treat 3 representative species S. arborescens, S. briquetiana and S. incana.
