Pterospartum (Spach) K. Koch

Monospecific genus, its only species is P. tridentatum, similar to Genista, Cytisus and Chamaespartium. They resemble in the morphology of the flowers, the seeds and the type of stems, respectively, but differs in the basic number of chromosomes; in Pterospartum is × = 14, in Genista × = 9, 10, 11 and 12, Chamaespartium × = 11 and Cytisus × = 12.
