Cotoneaster Medik.
Genus composed of about 280 species distributed mainly across temperate and cold areas of the Palearctic. In North Africa there are 2 species, one distributed across the humid forests of the Mediterranean area and the other in the mid and high mountain in the Sinai Peninsula.
