SOLANACEAE Juss.

Family composed of about 115 genera and about 2,680 species of trees, shrubs, lianas and herbaceous plants, with a cosmopolitan distribution. In North Africa it is represented by 10 genera, among which 7 have herbaceous, annual or perennial species. In the other 3 genera there are various woody, shrubby or lianescent species.
