MORINGACEAE Martinov

Small family from the Capparidales order, with a single genus, Moringa. They are trees from tropical or subtropical areas, some of which are fairly widespread through cultivation. They are highly valued as forage and medicinal uses, with nutritious leaves, edible fruits and high resistance to aridity; particularly M. oleifera, native to the Indian state of Kerala and M. stenopetala, from central Africa.
