Les tiges sont nettement ligneuses, tortueuses et d&rsquo;o\u00f9 finit par se d\u00e9tacher un tronc principal. Rameaux rouge fonc\u00e9 lorsqu&rsquo;ils sont jeunes, devenant cannelle ou brun verd\u00e2tre p\u00e2le lorsqu&rsquo;ils sont plus \u00e2g\u00e9s, presque glabres; ils ont des trichomes avec 4 \u00e0 9 rayons ; rayons de 0,05 \u00e0 0,15 mm, hyalins, partie centrale rouge\u00e2tre. Les feuilles (25-90 \u00d7 20-100 mm) sont g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement pentalob\u00e9es (rarement \u00e0 3 ou 4 lobes), avec un lobe apical aigu \u00e0 subaigu ; h\u00e9t\u00e9romorphe : base cord\u00e9e chez les juv\u00e9niles, subtronqu\u00e9e lorsqu&rsquo;ils sont un peu plus \u00e2g\u00e9s et en coin chez les adultes (parfois elles sont indiscernables, c&rsquo;est-\u00e0-dire hom\u00e9omorphes). Les feuilles juv\u00e9niles ont des p\u00e9tioles de 20-130 mm, dot\u00e9s de quelques trichomes, semblables \u00e0 ceux de la tige. Inflorescence terminale, ombelliforme, dense. Petites fleurs verd\u00e2tres. Calice tr\u00e8s petit, \u00e0 peine visible, \u00e0 5 s\u00e9pales minuscules \u00b1 triangulaires. Corolle \u00e0 5 p\u00e9tales triangulaires-lanc\u00e9ol\u00e9s, d&rsquo;abord ouverts en forme d&rsquo;\u00e9toile, puis repli\u00e9s vers l&rsquo;arri\u00e8re. En alternance avec les p\u00e9tales, naissent 5 \u00e9tamines aux anth\u00e8res blanc verd\u00e2tre.
