Genus composed of 16 species, from the western Palearctic. In North Africa there are 10 species distributed across the Mediterranean area. A further species, Adenocarpus argyrophyllus <\/em>(Rivas Goday) Caball. [A. hispanicus<\/em> subsp. argyrophyllus <\/em>(Rivas Goday) Rivas Goday], could be added if its presence were to be confirmed in northern Morocco. A species with a glandular calyx and characteristic leaves with lanceolate leaflets, silky-silvery on both sides. It was cited by Font Quer in the Rif [Jebel Tamgunt near Tala Mzalla (Mtigua)] but we were unable to find it here.
