Genus composed of some 70 species, distributed in temperate and tropical climates of most of the world. In North Africa it is represented by a single species; C. australis<\/strong>, distributed through the more humid areas of the Mediterranean region. Although a further tropical species could be included, C. <\/strong>toka<\/strong>, that reaches towards the N to the S of Mauritania and the Sahelian areas of Mali, Niger, Chad and Sudan.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"template":"","short_name":"Celtis","name_html":"Celtis<\/strong> L.","short_description":"","references":"","custom_author":"A.V.
