{"id":11170,"date":"2020-11-10T09:01:21","date_gmt":"2020-11-10T09:01:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.northafricatrees.org\/genus\/thymbra-l-2\/"},"modified":"2026-06-12T09:51:16","modified_gmt":"2026-06-12T09:51:16","slug":"thymbra-l-2","status":"publish","type":"genus","link":"https:\/\/www.northafricatrees.org\/en\/genuses\/thymbra-l-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Thymbra L."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Genus with 7 species distributed across the Mediterranean region and SW Asia; in North Africa, in recent decades it has been represented only by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.northafricatrees.org\/en\/species\/thymbra-capitata-l-cav\/\"><strong>T. capitata<\/strong><\/a>, but after the revision by Br\u00e4uchler (2018), another one, <em>T. linearifolia,<\/em> formerly in the genus <em>Satureja<\/em>, is incorporated.<\/p>\n<p><strong>T. linearifolia<\/strong> (Brullo &amp; Furnari) Br\u00e4uchler [<em>Satureja linearifolia<\/em> (Brullo &amp; Furnari) Greuter],is endemic to NE Libya (Cyrenaica).
